Strategy and creative direction for the long middle of building something.

AW TYSI is the practice of Anthony Walker Jr. Built ground-up from real community, for the people past the start and before the arrival, when the work is heaviest.

Sister to Tabled and Yoke Social Table. All TYSI concepts.

The problem

Most strategy decks die on the desk.

Top-down playbooks. Borrowed frameworks. Decks that look polished and don’t move anyone. Local culture moves faster than the agency can keep up. The result — work that nobody photographs, nobody remembers, nobody feels.

01

Top-down strategy

Market research, positioning grids, agency frameworks. Misses what the actual community is already doing.

02

Borrowed creative

Mood boards from somebody else’s city. Looks fine. Doesn’t land. Doesn’t belong.

03

Reach over impact

Every dashboard ranks impressions. The blast a community can feel for miles isn’t on the dashboard.

04

The long middle

Past the start, before the arrival, when the work is heaviest. Nobody is making work for that.

The practice

Four pillars. One point of view. Each one makes the next one work.

Strategy that comes from the community. Creative direction that looks like it was built for one room. Culture that travels past the campaign. A method your team can keep when I leave.

01 · Strategy

Brand strategy, ground-up.

Figure out what you actually mean before you spend money saying it. Position the work, not the room.

  • Positioning, narrative, and message architecture
  • Field research with actual customers, in actual places
  • Strategy documents short enough to execute
  • Naming and verbal identity when it’s called for
02 · Creative direction

Voice, visual system, and the room.

The brand a customer walks into, online and off. Built once, applied everywhere, owned by the team.

  • Visual identity and design system
  • Photo, video, and editorial direction
  • Launch art direction across owned and earned
  • Hand-off systems your in-house team can run
03 · Culture & community

A blast you can feel for miles.

The kind of impact that outlasts the campaign. Convening, commissioning, programming the room around the work.

  • Pop-ups, events, and field programming
  • Local creator and operator collaborations
  • Community design — who shows up and why
  • Cultural moments that become brand assets
04 · The TYSI Method

A practice you can keep.

Teaching the playbook so the in-house team can run it. Strategy and creative direction as a transferable practice, not a black box.

  • Workshops and intensive working sessions
  • Course and educational content
  • Operating documents and team rituals
  • Office hours for the long middle

How we work

Three steps. Out in the open.

Two weeks of listening, then a written scope, then the work. No retainer-creep. No surprise invoices.

01

Listen

Two weeks in your community before I open a doc. Customers, neighbors, operators, your team. The strategy starts ground-up, not top-down.

02

Position

Strategy short enough to execute. Naming, narrative, and the message architecture your team can use without a decoder ring.

03

Build & hand off

Visual system, launch art direction, and an operating doc your in-house team owns the day I leave. The practice is supposed to outlast the engagement.

FAQ

The questions I get asked first.

What does TYSI stand for?

The Yoke Social Initiative — the umbrella for everything I work on. Tabled and Yoke Social Table are sister brands inside the same family.

Are you taking new projects?

Yes, with a tight roster. I take on three to four engagements a year so each one gets the time the long middle deserves.

How do you scope a project?

Two weeks of listening. Then a written scope, a fixed fee, and a date. No retainer-creep. No surprise invoices.

Do you work outside Indianapolis and Kokomo?

Yes. Most engagements are remote with on-site weeks for listening and launch. Travel is included when the work calls for it.

Can you work with my in-house team?

Always preferred. The TYSI method is built to be handed off — your team should own the practice before I leave.

Work with me

Tell me what you’re building. I’ll tell you which of these the work is closest to.

Two weeks of listening. A written scope. A fixed fee. A date. The work starts when both of us are ready.

  • Branded content & partnerships

Long-form work for brands that want a voice, not a vendor.

  • Creative consulting & strategy

Positioning, narrative, and creative direction at the moment a decision gets made.

  • Course & educational content

Teaching the practice. Making the playbook portable.

  • Community building initiatives

Convening the people in the long middle. Field, not feed.
